Out Twice In One Week!

Thursdays show with Jeff Dunham was hilarious (or wait maybe it was the few drinks we had a dinner). No, really the show was good, the boys were good for our babysitter and were both asleep by 9pm. Not bad at all! A little past Ayden's bed time but I can live with that. After the show were were stuck on the 6th floor of the parking garage. We literally didn't move for about 20 minutes so we pulled back into a spot and walked to Paninis. Not a good idea considering the shoes Sam and I had on. We were able to watch the end of the Cavs game that they won (not that it matters now since we lost last night). Anyways, Sam and I waited for Andy and Bryan to go get the car. Our feet were not making that walk back! That too wasn't the best idea since we got stuck in traffic. Oh well.

Last night we were headed downtown to the Indians game but since we all wanted to watch the Cavs we went to Lakewood to meet some friends. Of course there was no where to sit and Andy and I were hungry and had no desire to stand the whole time so we left. We ended up at Agave (yummy Mexican food and margaritas!) on the patio. We were able to watch the game (depressing!).

Needless to say, I'm tired today. Those were two late nights for us considering we don't go out that much anymore. Funny what having kids does to you!

Well off to watch Andy play Sunday softball...

Cohen's 2 Month Well Baby Visit

I have blinked my eyes and Cohen is now 2 months old! You would think after witnessing Ayden grow up so fast that I wouldn't be surprised. Not the case. Cohen is doing great. He is in the 75th percentile for weight (13lbs.) and head circumference (smaller than Ayden's is all I know) and in the 90th percentile for height at 24 1/2in.
I kept saying I thought he was long! I was a little worried that the little bit of Mexican in him would keep him short. Keeping my fingers crossed that that does not happen!

An Evening Out Tonight

Tonight we are going to see comedian, Jeff Dunham. While I'm excited to get out, I'm worried about my boys. Since it's a work night, I couldn't have my mom here until midnight, so Andy's cousin is babysitting. At first I thought we were leaving at 7 which would allow me to nurse Cohen before we left so I wouldn't have to worry about him taking a bottle. Now we are leaving at 5 to get some dinner before hand. Ayden goes to bed so good for me now, I'm just not sure how he'll do for someone else. Cohen has had a bottle once. The good thing about Cohen is that he doesn't need to be nursed to fall asleep. Just swaddled. He is usually asleep before Ayden or right around the same time. I just hope they don't give her a hard time. We'll see...

Winding Down

It's 9pm, both boys have been asleep since a little after 8pm and Andy is off watching the Cavs. It's nice and quite here. I can't find my phone. I am hoping it's at the carlot. This is the second time today I've lost it. The first time it was in my pocket! I was in the car with my mom and I kept telling her it must be on the floor on her side because that's where I was hearing it. I even looked there after she did and said it wasn't there. It was in my pocket by the way!

My poor little Ayden was sick on Monday. I heard him at 4am on the monitor and sent Andy up to check on him. Andy came down a little bit later looking for a thermometer and said Ayden was burning up. By the time he found one, Ayden was back asleep so we left him alone. He woke up for the day around 7:30. I went up to his room and he was still burning up. Andy took his temp. and it was 101.3. He was not a happy camper. He drank a cup full of his rice milk. He was so worked up that I was just waiting for it to come back up. It did, but it wasn't that big of a deal. I put some clean jammies on him (and me) and cuddled with him on the couch as much as Cohen would let me. Ayden was on the couch until 3pm that afternoon! This is so unlike him. He wakes up running! I monitored his temp. all day and it did start to come down. When he finally decided to get up, I gave in and gave him some Motrin to help the fever come down some more. He didn't even really need it and I wish now I wouldn't have given it to him. His body was already doing what it was supposed to do. Later that day, my sister came over with her kids and Ayden played with them for a little bit. He went to bed like any other day and slept all night. He woke up the next morning as if nothing had ever happened.

It makes me feel pretty good that his body got rid of whatever it was. Yay for Ayden's immune system! I really feel it is due to the fact that he eats mostly organic, is not downing gallons of cow's milk, and drinks water and not juice. I'm pretty picky about what goes into his mouth! He gets adjusted monthly and I always take the alternative, holistic way before anything else. This was the first time he ever had a fever like that too.

Just a Quick One

So I finally decided to write something. A short something. Ayden needs to go down for a nap in a few. I feel like I have adjusted to life with 2 under 2 pretty well. I have my good days and of course I have my bad days. The beauty of it all is, if I have a bad day I get to start over from fresh the next morning. Cohen sleeps much better at night then Ayden ever did. He does not, however like to be in his carrier unless we are moving. Ayden slept in that thing all the time, moving or not. Andy said to me the other day that he feels no stress with Cohen. I remember us both being stressed when Ayden was a newborn. Maybe it's because we somewhat know what we're doing now. Who knows. Andy is an amazing father. I love watching him with Ayden. They ride the 4 wheeler together which Ayden absolutely loves! When Andy walks in the door, Ayden goes running for him squealing with delight. Andy eats that right up! I look forward to Cohen getting older and joining in on the fun. Well Ayden just finished off the last of my Iced Decaf Cinnamon Dolce Latte. Who knew, the kid likes coffee?! He has done this before, when I wasn't looking.

Nap time for Ayden, good thing it was decaf!
